Obituary of Allan Chisholm
The death of Allan Chisholm of Saint John, NB, occurred on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late, Alexander and Dora (Goddard) Chisholm. Allan was employed at Silver Glade Nursing Home and Loch Lomond Villa for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and the Lions Club, where he was awarded the President’s Appreciation Award and the Melvin Jones Fellow for Dedication Humanitarian Services. Allan was an avid Bowler and enjoyed volunteering for the Loch Lomond Villa, the Food Bank and the Lions Club. Survived by his brother, Douglas (Debbie) of Boynton Beach, FL; his sisters, Marlene Brideau, Judy Boyle (Tom), Sandra Levine (Ron), Mary Lou Maguire (Brian) all of Saint John, his best friend, Margaret McKinnon, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Allan is predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Donnie, Wayne and Frank and his sister, Shirley Grass. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday from 7 – 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from Forest Hills Baptist Church, Mountain Road, Saint John, at 12:00pm. Interment to take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
