Obituary of Isabel Virginia Grant
The death of Isabel Virginia Grant of the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John, wife of the late Ernest Grant, occurred on Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on Grand Manan Island, on June 23, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Audley Preston and Carey Ellen (Holmes) Green. Mrs. Grant was a Music Teacher in the local schools for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, the Millidgeville Senior Citizens Club, the New Brunswick Senior Citizens Federation and volunteered with the Progressive Conservative Party. She is survived by one son, Gary Galbraith (Margo Ann), two brothers, Rev. Julian Green (Marie) of Fredericton and Stephen Green (Emily) of Saint John, four grandchildren, Shawn, Krista, Ian and Amber, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond B. Galbraith, her second husband, Melvin A. Galbraith, infant son, Mervin Dennis and her sister, Royal G. Young. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 2:15 PM. Interment in the Lorneville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home would be appreciated.
