Obituary of Audrey Gertrude Morton
Morton, Audrey Gertrude – The death of Audrey Gertrude Morton of Saint John, NB occurred on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born in Saint John on June 9, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Waldo and Seneath (Perry) Oldfield. Audrey was a veteran of World War II (1942 – 1945) serving in Canada and England; she also served with the Militia for 14 years. Following her discharge from the Army she was employed with Dominion Stores Ltd., Sobey's Ltd., New Brunswick Museum and the Saint John School Board. Survived by brothers: Burton (Helen) and Victor (Doreen) Oldfield of Hardings Point, NB and Raymond Oldfield of Saint John; sisters: Nina Reinhart, Evelyn (Bob) Curran and Lorna (Bruce) Wilson, all of Saint John; sister-in-law, Jean Oldfield; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Norman "Penny" (Carol) and Waldo; sister, Ella (Robert) Walker; brother-in-law, William “Pat” Reinhart. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 11:30 am. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Douglas Avenue Christian Church would be appreciated by the family.
