Obituary of Janet Spinney
The death of Janet Spinney formerly of 869 Mollins Drive, Saint John West, wife of the late Jack B. Spinney, occurred peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Kingsclear, New Brunswick on July 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Rae) Murdoch. Janet was formerly employed with MRA’s and Barbour’s Spice Factory. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, the Friendly Fellowship Group at the church and the Parents Sponsor Committee of the #527 Simonds Air Cadets. She is survived by three sons, Brian (Olivera) of Labrador City, NL, Peter (Cathy) of Saint John and Gary (Brenda) of Greenwood, NS, one daughter, Joanne Martin (Joe) of Quispamsis, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, John, Bill, Hugh and Jim and three sisters, Ellen, Mary and Margaret. At the request of Janet, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or Main Street Baptist Church would be appreciated.
