Obituary of Earle George Dykeman
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sept 16, 2007. Dear son of the late Ronald and Alice (O’Malley) Dykeman. Beloved brother of Robert, Betty Vandenberg (late Arie), Shirley Margeson (late Kenneth) and David (Monique). Predeceased by brothers William (Jeanne) and Ronald (Beverley). Earle is survived by his Aunt Sr. Mary O’Malley (Sister Ursulina), Constance Dykeman, close family friend David Lester and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. In his love for band music, Earle was known as a man with a beat.. He was a familiar face and sometimes conductor at local band concerts. The upbeat tempo of a Glenn Miller favorite brought twinkling eruptions of happiness to his eyes and smile, infecting the total ensemble. A devout mass attendee his beat will carry on amongst the angels. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo St., Saint John on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 12:05 pm. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to L’Arche … New Dawn.
