Obituary of Murray Bertram Alchorn
The death of Murray Bertram Alchorn, of 114 Beauvista Street, Rothesay, NB, beloved husband of Marie (Porter) Alchorn, occurred unexpectedly on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his residence. Born in Saint John on July 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Arthur and Beatrice (McQueen) Alchorn. Murray was an operations technician at Irving Oil Refinery for many years before his retirement. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by one son, Sean Alchorn (Linda Albert) of Saint John, one daughter, Jennifer Small (Aaron) of Rothesay, grandsons, Sean Jr. and Kyle, step-granddaughters, Samantha and Kara, four sisters, Joan Fillmore (Charlie), Millie Dempsey, Helen Boyle and Barbara Finley (Ron), sister-in-law, Leona Alchorn, one brother, Leonard Alchorn (Bev) all of Saint John, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Bonnie, brother, Arthur and brothers-in-law, Leander Dempsey and Ted Boyle. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
