Obituary of Kathaleen Mae Lebans
Lebans, Kathaleen Mae - The death of Kay Lebans of Brookview Crescent, Saint John occurred at her residence December 17, 2007. Kay will be fondly remembered by many as "Gaga". She was born July 17, 1911 in Stellarton, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Susannah (Fraser) and John Boutilier. Kay was a graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1932. She graduated from the Boston Lying- In Hospital 1933 after completing a post graduate course in Ear, Nose, and Throat. Kay was the wife of the late Norton W. Lebans. Kay along with her husband and daughters lived in several locations in the Maritimes until his retirement from the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1966. She was a member of St. Mark's United Church. Kay is survived by two daughters, Faye Huestis (David) and Susan Harrison (Richard) both of Saint John, N.B., five grandchildren John Harrison (Elizabeth) Kingston N.B., Paul Huestis (Diane) Glenwood, N.B., Heather Finkle (Doug) Grandbay- Westfield N.B., Peter Huestis (Betsy) Winston-Salem N.C. and Jennifer Huestis, Saint John, N.B.; five great grandchildren; Gregor and Ben Harrison, Sarah and Colin Finkle amd Xavier Huestis; six nieces and one nephew. Kay was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at St. Mark's United Church, Greendale, Saint John, Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. Bob Mercer officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. 634-7424.
