Obituary of Inez J. Bell
The death of Inez Josephine Bell of 55 Magazine Street, Saint John, occurred on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Temperance Vale, New Brunswick on January 14, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas D. and Ethel (Noble) Bell. Miss Bell graduated from Acadia University in 1941 with a bachelor of arts and during her career worked as a teacher, librarian, and an employee in the foreign mission office of the Atlantic Baptist Convention holding along with other duties the position of editor of the Enterprise publication. The final step of her career took her to the Saint John General Hospital as director and developer of their volunteer program, from which she retired in 1985. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a dear friend of many years, Nina Corey, three brothers, Elmer W. Bell, Rev. George R. Bell and John I. Bell and three sisters, Beumont Fox, Geneva Bell and Marion Morehouse. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Saint John on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery in the spring. Remembrances to Cornerstone Baptist Church, the Saint John Regional Hospital Cardiac Care Unit or the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
