Obituary of Yvon Joseph Bonnevie

Yvon Joseph "Ivan" Bonnevie of Saint John, husband of Molly J. (Nesbitt) Bonnevie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in West Saint John on November 6, 1937, he was a son of the late Adelard and Suzanne "Suzy" (Johnson) Bonnevie. Yvon worked at the winter port and was a pipefitter for Local 325 of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He enjoyed his family and friends, and had a love for music and playing pool. In addition to his wife of 48 years, Yvon is survived by his children, Pam Caissie (Brad Price) of Chipman and Kevin Bonnevie (Krista) of Summerville; grandchildren Jessica Caissie, Melanie Bonnevie, and Nicole Caissie; sisters Jean Fillmore (Frank) of Ottawa and Yvonne Bonnevie; brothers Leo Bonnevie (Gail) of Quispamsis, and Gerry Bonnevie (Alice) of Windsor, ON; a sister-in-law, Bernetta Bonnevie of Hampton; good friends Danny and Loreen Dupuis of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Yvon was predeceased by a brother, Edmund Bonnevie. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM from St. Ann’s Church, 185 Simpson Drive, Saint John. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.
