Obituary of Audrey H. Cyr
The death of Audrey Cyr, wife of the late Thomas Cyr occurred at Yvonne’s Special Care Home, Titusville on Sunday, February 17, 2013. She was born on March 4, 1916 in Saint John to the late Burt and Emma (Davidson) Lackie. Audrey was formerly of Willow Grove Area and worked as a RNA. She volunteer with Lakewood Headstart and was known for gathering clothing and organizing food drives to help the less fortunate. Audrey was a gifted poet and wrote numerous letters to the editor. She was a lover of animals and nature. She is survived by the nephew she raised, Wayne Cochrane (Lorraine) of Bains Corner; several grandchildren, and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; sons: Murray and Gary; daughter, Sandra Armstrong and sisters: Muriel Lawton and Marion Marr. A heartfelt thank you to the Staff of Yvonne’s Special Care Home for the kindness and compassion they showed Audrey during her stay with them. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the spring at Brown’s Cemetery, Bains Corner. For those who wish remembrances to Fairfield Baptist Church or the SPCA-Animal Rescue League would be appreciated by the family.
