Obituary of Helen Jean Barry
Helen was born in Bluevale, Ontario, the daughter of Jeannette Brock and George T. Thomson. After completing an Arts degree at the University of Western Ontario, she worked in Sarnia where she met her future husband, Albert J. Barry. They married in 1948, and lived in Sarnia, where their children were born, until 1960 when they moved to Kennebecasis Park in the Saint John area. Helen was predeceased by her husband. She is fondly remembered by her brother, George Thomson of Ottawa, ON; her daughter, Paula Barry (David Sadler) of Quispamsis, NB; her son, Stephen (Barbara) of Cherry Hill, NS; her grandchildren: Paula-Marie Barry Mercer (Greg Mercer) of Halifax, NS, Catherine Sadler of Ottawa,ON, Margaret Sadler (Mathew Fullerton) of Truro, NS, Robert Sadler (Carla) of Rothesay, NB, Victoria Sadler of Fredericton, NB; and two great grandchildren, Gabriel Sadler and Celia Fullerton At Helen's request, there will be no funeral. A family celebration of Helen's life will be held at a later date. Donations to UNICEF, The Canadian Cancer Society, Kings Way Care Centre, Alzheimer Society, or the charity of choice would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Kings Way Care Centre, where Helen resided for the last four years. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
