Obituary of Emile Felix Gallant
Emile Felix Gallant of Saint John, husband of 57 years to M. Edna Gallant, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 03, 2013 at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on July 20, 1922, he was a son of the late Cyrus and Josephine Gallant. Emile was a veteran of WWII and had served in England, Germany Belgium and Holland. He worked for Canadian Pacific Railway at the Winter Port. Emile was a carpenter by trade and worked for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Puis X Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69. Emile enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outside. He was a loving husband and father and loved his grandchildren dearly. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Garfield "Gary" (Laura) Gallant, Saint John; Brenda (Fred) Butler, Rothesay; Cindy (Kevin) Rice, Rothesay and Randy (Dawn) Gallant, Quispamsis; brother, Francis (Carol) Gallant, Vancouver; sisters, Rena Cory, Saint John; Dora Thibodeau, Collette; sisters-in-law, Irene Gallant and Cecile Gallant; grandchildren, Michael Gallant, Lee Gallant, Leah Butler, Ryan Butler, Kayden Rice, Logan Gallant and Landen Gallant; step-grandson, Josh Shewbridge; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his, brothers, Cyrus Jr. and Gelase; sisters, Bella, Florida and Anna. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from at St. Pius X Church, on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 10 am. For those who wish, remembrances to The A.L.S. Society, Breast Cancer Foundation or a charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated.
