Obituary of Wendell Douglas Loughery
Wendell Douglas Loughery of Rothesay passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Bobby's Hospice. Born in Saint John on January 23, 1955, he was a son of Douglas and Joyce (Black) Loughery. Wendell was employed with Glenhar Builders for close to 14 years, and owned and operated Autumn Wood contractors for several years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Wendell is survived by his children, Kristen Morrell (Jay) of Rothesay, Mike Loughery (Alex) of Quispamsis, and Erin Loughery of Nauwigewauk; grandchildren Nathan and Makayla Morrell, and twins, Liam & Lexi; siblings Cathy Love (Wayne) of Rothesay, Bruce Loughery (Marsha) of Rothesay, Brenda Loughery of Quispamsis, and Richard Loughery (Katherine) of Dartmouth, NS; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Chris O'Brien for encouraging Wendell to take up his last days at Bobby's Hospice. It was a special place with extra special people. He felt at home and for the first time in many months found peace. In keeping with Wendell’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held at this time. For those who wish, donations to Bobby’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
