Obituary of Bette Dawn Brown
Bette Dawn Brown the wife of the late Glendon Brown, passed away on September 24, 2013 at Turnbull Nursing Home. Born on March 8, 1933 she was a daughter of the late George and Greta (McCurdy) Patterson. Bette graduated from Edgehill School For Girls, Windsor NS, Central Maine School of Nursing and McGill University School of Nursing and was awarded Muriel Archibald Scholar in 1964-65. She worked for over 30 years with the Department of Health at Centracare as Educational Director and Infection Control Nurse and retired in 1985 due to illness. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Church and then became a member of Trinity Church, a member of Trinity Needlework Club and member of the Alumni for King’s Edgehill School and McGill University. She is survived by sister-in-laws, Myrtle Belding, Norma Brown and Evelyn "Evie" Brown, nieces, nephews and many friends. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Trinity Church, 115 Charlotte Street, Saint John. Interment will take place in Browns Cemetery, Bains Cornor. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
