Obituary of Henry A. Scovil
The death of Henry Albert Scovil occurred on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, at the age of 94. Born in Amherst, NS, on January 25, 1919, he was the son of Hattie and Edward Scovil. He was a loving husband for 50 years to the late Marjorie (Follett) Scovil, and a wonderful father to his only child, daughter Barbara Anne Dineen. Henry was a former resident of Sussex Corner and Saint John for many years. Henry owned and operated Scovil’s Trucking in Saint John for over 40 years. He had a contract with the former N.B Tel to deliver telephone equipment around the province; he retired in 1980. Henry is survived by his daughter, Barbara Anne Dineen, grandson Christopher John Dineen, his wife Liza Ring-Dineen and their children; Tyler Ring-Dineen, Riley-Ring Dineen and Abby Ring-Dineen, granddaughter Catherine Ann Clouston, her husband Willard Clouston and their son Zachary Clouston, all of Fredericton, NB, former son-in-law John Dineen, one niece, and one nephew. Henry was predeceased by his wife Marjorie, two sisters Mary Whyte, and Kathleen Scovil. Henry became quite a gardener when he and Marjorie moved to Sussex Corner in 1976. He grew very tasty tomatoes and other vegetables, and shared them with everyone. After Marjorie passed away in 1992, Henry found great comfort in meeting his buddies for coffee in the morning and afternoon at McDonalds in Sussex. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Centennial House, where Henry had resided for the last 6 ½ years. Also, a big thank you to the caring nurses on 3C South at the Regional Hospital for the last few weeks. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Friday at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com
