Obituary of Ethel Dorothy Davis
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of E. "Dorothy" (Hopcutt) Davis of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Raymond Davis, which occurred on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Loch Lomond Villa Inc. Born in Hazelmere, AB, on December 1, 1912 she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Fanny (Bridgewater) Hopcutt. She was a member of The Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses Bay Side congregation and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing crib. Dorothy is survived by three sons, Donald Davis, Douglas Davis (Sandra) both of Saint John, and Ronald Davis of Weymouth, NS; one daughter, Myrtle Garnett of Hampton; one daughter-in-law, Sally Davis of Saint John; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one son, Gordon; one daughter, Dorothy Sabean; one sister, Lucy Kupkee; Granddaughter, Shelley; two daughters-in-law, Shirley and Bernice; one son-in-law, Douglas Garnett. The family would like to thank the staff of Dogwood Lane, Loch Lomond Villa for the wonderful care Dorothy received while she was a resident there. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
