Obituary of Nancy D. Smith
Surrounded by her family, the death of Nancy Smith, wife of the late John "Jack" Smith, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, September 7, 2012. She was born on April 18, 1932 in Saint John to the late Charles and Esther (Crosby) Sweet. Nancy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she dedicated her life to her family. Her interests included: sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening, and crafting. Nancy is survived by her sons, James (Jo-Ann) of Rothesay, Richard "Rick" (Susan) of Saint John and Robert of Hamilton, ON; daughters: Deborah Dunn (Ed Lutz) and Kelly Smith, both of Saint John; brother, John (Joan); sisters: Beatrice Ellsworth, Barbara Edison, Mary McAndrew (Andy) and Sharon Burke (Lawrence); grandchildren: Nancy-Jean, Amanda, Anthony, Jaelyn, Jackie, Rhonda and Michael; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, and parents, Nancy was predeceased by her brothers, Bobby and Eddy, and sisters: Mildred Ashe, Betty Mills, Edith Winchester and Ann Shirley Bent. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
