Obituary of Barbara Joyce Brighton
Barbara Joyce Brighton of Rothesay, wife of the late Walter Robert Brighton, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Barb was born in Margaretsville, Nova Scotia on March 2, 1930. She worked as a caregiver and homemaker until she was 70, and also lived for 7 years in Vancouver. In her spare time, Barb enjoyed crossword puzzles, painting, cleaning the house, and always kept an eye on the upcoming weather. She also enjoyed going for drives, having driven across Canada 12 times, as well as going to Florida and North Carolina. Barb is survived by her children, Dorothy Miller (Lee) of Nauwigewauk, David Gary Brighton of Vancouver, Dawn Dwyer (Calvin) of Rothesay, Jimmy Brighton (Susan) of Edmonton, and Karen Brighton of Rothesay; grandchildren Brant, Scott, Shantel, Shawn, Stacey, Chris, Robbie, Tasha, Shauna, Stephanie, Kelly, Daniel, Mindy, and Michael; several great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Marjorie Curwin (Jim) of Moncton and Dorothy Wallace of Sussex; and her special caregiver, Adrienne Arsenault Gray of Saint John. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances to the New Brunswick Lung Association or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
