Obituary of Charles Courtney Ross

The family is deeply saddened to announce the death of Charles Courtney Ross of Saint John, husband of Donna R. (Queen) Ross, which occurred on Tuesday, January 01, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Alma, NB on August 25, 1940, a son of the late Frank and Georgie (Cochrane) Ross. Charlie worked at Good Year, and then was employed with Downey Ford for 32 years as a licensed mechanic. He loved his harness racing, and was a trainer and driver of many horses. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Charlie is survived by his son, C. Alan Ross (Coleen) of Saint John; his daughters, Vivian Floyd (Alden) of Salt Springs, and Faye Scribner of Saint John; grandchildren Wayne, Amanda, Ashley, Alyssa, Emily, Jacob, and Hannah; seven great grandchildren; his brother, Percy Ross (Barb) of Toronto; his sister, Sandra Goguen (Rod) of Saint John; a special cousin, Clayton Cochrane of Nova Scotia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by brothers Gordon, Ronald, and Carlyle; and by his sister, Sylvia MacEachern. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
