Obituary of Douglas Thomas Davidson
Douglas Thomas Davidson of Saint John, husband of Elsie May (MacFarlane) Davidson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on July 15, 1928, he was a son of the late William and Lottie (Kincade) Davidson. Doug was formerly employed with Saint John Shipbuilding as a crane operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping at Wally’s Trailer Park and playing cards, he was a member of the Elk’s and Buffalo Clubs. In addition to his wife of 52 years, Doug is survived by two daughters, Lottie Goodine of Saint John and Shelley Saunders (Allan) of Saint John; a son, Robert Sullivan of Saint John; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Melanie), John (Jeanette) Aaron, Brittney (Dana), Brandi, Seth and Chelsea; three great grandchildren, Natalie, Connor and Madison; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Perry. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 7-9 PM and Friday, June 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date.
