Obituary of Walter James Herrington
The death of Walter Herrington, husband of Bertha (Folkins) Herrington occurred at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. He was born on June 11, 1927 in French Village, Kings County to the late Leslie and Melissa (Price) Herrington. Walter was a professional driver; driving truck for Maritime-Ontario and Thornes for many years. He was a member of St. James Lakewood Church and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. Besides his wife of 63 years, Bertha; Walter is survived by his son, Barry (Crystal) of Quispamsis; three daughters: Betty Holland (Doug) of Quispamsis, Dianne Courtney of Gagetown and Sheila Cordeau of Saint John; sisters: Esther Crandall (Donald) and Edna Hall; step-mother, Sylvia Herrington and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Bertha and family would like to thank the staff at the Loch Lomond Villa for the exceptional care they provided for Walter, especially Cedar and Dogwood Lane. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from St. James (Lakewood) Church, 2000 Loch Lomond Road on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish remembrance to the Alzheimer’s Society or St. James Lakewood Church, would be appreciated by the family.
