Obituary of Kenneth George Logue

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Kenneth G. Logue, husband of Jean (Galbraith) Logue on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. He was born on March 7, 1922 in Saint John, NB to the late George W. and Clementine B. (Fulton) Logue. During World War II, Ken served in the R.C.A.F. as an Air Navigator. He completed one tour of operations with R.A.F. Lancaster Bomber Squadron 115, out of Witchford, England; flying 31 missions. Ken completed volunteer flights over Holland and received the Dutch Medal of Remembrance for his efforts. Following his wartime service he worked for the Federal Income Tax Service, retiring in 1983. He was an active member of Central Baptist Church for over 60 years serving on various boards, and as a Past-Treasurer and Deacon. His church related interests included: treasurer of the Saint John-Kings Association of Baptist Churches and Chairman of the Stewardship and Finance Commission. At the Maritime Baptist Convention level he served on the Baptist Men’s Committee, member and chairman of the Stewardship Commission at the Maritime Baptist Convention; Convention Representative on the Board of Governors of Acadia University, Board of Trustees of Acadia Divinity College, chairman of the Baptist Bookroom Committee; member of the Ad Hoc committee to establish a Baptist Foundation for the Atlantic Provinces; and was first treasurer of the Baptist Foundation. Ken was administrator of Trust Funds for the eastern section of the Canadian Baptist Overseas Mission Board. Ken was a member of Federal Superannuates National Association; the Professional Institute of the Public Service and the Royal United Services Institute of New Brunswick. Ken enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing while he was physically able to do so. He was a compassionate thoughtful person who provided assistance where he saw the need. Ken was active in his youth as a camper and leader at Camp Wegesegum, a representative from Saint John to the Older Boys Parliament and maritime treasurer of the Convention of Baptist Young Peoples. Ken was interested in choral singing and was a member of Trinity Anglican Church Boys Choir and received the School of English Church Music Medal. His interest continued in music through the years. Besides his loving wife, Jean of 64 years, Ken leaves behind: two sons, Jaime (Catherine) Logue of Oxford Mills, ON and Arthur (Nancy) Logue of Saint John; three grandchildren: Andrew (Shawna), Scott and Oliver Logue; sister-in-law, Jean Logue and several nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his sister Esther (Constantine) and his brothers Ottis and Frank. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John New Brunswick (506-634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-5 pm. A RCL Tribute Service will be held Sunday during visiting at 2:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension. For those who wish, remembrances to the Gideon’s Bible Society or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
