Obituary of Malcolm Arthur Townes
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Malcolm Townes announces his unexpected death which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was born on October 24, 1957 in Saint John to Arthur and Sylvia (McLaughlin) Townes. Malcolm’s two loves were women and cars both are controlled by speed limits and driven to live as quoted from his 1975 yearbook. Malcolm started his career as a body man for McKnight Motors but spent the last several years as an industrial cleaner working for various companies in Saint John. He loved to work and was happiest when he had a steady job. Malcolm enjoyed detailing his truck and golfing on the peninsula with his family. He had a special spot in his heart for his nephew, "Todder" and adored his Dad, Mom and family who meant the world to him. Besides his parents, Malcolm is survived by his brother, Glen (Shauna) of Clifton Royal; sisters: Valerie LeBlanc (David) of Erb’s Cove and Angela Tracey (Darrell) of Quispamsis; nephews: Michael, Todd, and Billy; nieces: Sarah, Jolena, Lisa, Jessica, Kristie, Amber and Emily; 13 grandnieces and grandnephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Malcolm was predeceased by his infant sister, Marilyn. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
