Obituary of James Charles Kingston
James Charles Kingston of Saint John, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on June 26, 1928, he was a son of the late Charles and Sue (McArthur) Kingston.James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Nicole, who brought him so much joy. James was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Yankees fan. As a young man James enjoyed swimming. He loved all kinds of sports, animals, John Wayne, bowling and also had a great love for golfing in which he received a trophy for his hole in one at the Westfield Golf and Country Club. James was a member in Good Standing at the Buffalo Club. He will always be remembered as having a great sense of humor. At one time he was the owner and operator of Kingston’s Variety where he was well known for his ribbon candy. James is survived by his son, James "Jim" (Teresa); granddaughter, Nicole; sister, Joan Kraft; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Buckley and a brother, Ronnie Kingston.Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
