Obituary of Joseph John Murphy
Joseph "Joe" John Murphy of Haymarket, VA, died suddenly on Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home. Joe had recently celebrated his recovery from a stroke in August 2011. Joe was born on April 26, 1968 in Saint John, N.B. to John Henry and Rose Marie (Comeau) Murphy. Joe and his wife Keely moved from Canada in 1995 after graduating from the University of New Brunswick. He worked for Exxon-Mobil and most recently Circle K. He was an avid sports fan who loved to play golf, cheer for the New England Patriots, and he was passionate about the NASCAR team he helped to sponsor. He was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Mission in Haymarket. Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Keely Ridgway Murphy, and three daughters, whom he treasured: Lauren, 13, Morgan, 10, and Reagan, 6, all of Haymarket, VA; parents: John and Rose Murphy of Saint John, N.B.; one brother: Michael Murphy and his wife Mindy , two nieces: Madison and Megan Murphy; one nephew: Mackenzie Murphy all of Quispamsis, N.B.; father and mother in-law: H. Matt and Pat Ridgway of Saint John, N.B.; brother-in-law: Matthew Ridgway and Jessica Steele; nephew: Stephen Ridgway of Cold Lake,Ab: and a special family friend: Pauline Williams and her husband Barry of Crestview, FL; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima, 541 Milford Road, on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at a later date. Remebrances to the The Murphy Children's Trust Fund, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
