Obituary of Ellen May Ross

Ross, Ellen May - It is with great sadness that the family of Ellen May Ross, wife of the late John Ross, announce her peaceful passing on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Loch Lomond Villa. May was born in Taymouth, NB to the late Fred and Alice (Parent) Young. Following Nursing School in Fredericton she spent her Nursing years in Moncton and Saint John, retiring from the Turnbull Nursing Home as Nursing Supervisor. Her love of family and her pets made her so happy and gave her lots of laughter. She always found laughter during awkward moments. May was a long standing member of the Silver Falls United Church and until recent years always provided her pickles and cooking for the Turkey dinners. She was without a doubt the "Best Cook" ever. Raising her family while balancing a career never stopped her from providing gourmet meals. After retirement she also learned watercolour painting which kept her busy in between her love of politics and political debates (mostly with her sons in Law). Her door was always open which was often revolving with many friends. The Best Mom and Nanny will be greatly missed. May is survived by her daughters: Heather McIntyre (Bernie) and Shelley Ross (Tom Christie); grandchildren: Sarah McNulty (Tyler Whittaker), Jonah McNulty and Adam Ross; great granddaughter, Brianna. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son, David and daughter, Holly McNulty. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). By May’s request there will be no formal visitation, however everyone is welcome to attend a funeral on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 12 noon at Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the Silver Falls United Church or the SPCA- Animal Rescue League would be appreciated by the family.
