Obituary of Rose Marie Scribner

Rose Marie Scribner of Saint John passed away on August 29, 2012, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 13, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Joseph and Katherine Elizabeth (Gillieo) McRae. She worked for Ben’s Bakery, demonstrating their products at Atlantic Superstore, and most recently worked at the Chase Senior Home. Rose adored her family; they were her number one priority. She enjoyed birds, flowers, and always had a smile; she always spoke her mind, and always found time for anybody. A wonderful, stubborn lady, Rose was a loving mother to Edgar George Scribner of Saint John and Wendell Joseph Scribner of South Branch, grandmother to Kyle, Evan, Michael, Suzanne and Kurtis, and a great-grandmother to Kiera. Rose Marie is also survived by her sisters Francis Guszczewski, Dorothy Rogers, and Joan McRae; all of Saint John, Irene (John) Jolie of Musquash, Mary (Don) Thorne of Bloomfield,as well as her beloved dog, Brandy. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by sisters Josephine Ann Gordon, Evelyn "Dixie" McDonald (the late Jackie), brother James Freeman, and brother-in-law, Jim Rogers. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 31st, 2012 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
