Obituary of Florence Amy MacDonald
It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Florence Amy MacDonald (Reed) wife of J. Bruce MacDonald on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Cambridge, ON on December 13, 1924 she was a daughter of the late William and Mabel Reed. Florence is survived by her caring and devoted husband of 63 years, J. Bruce MacDonald and her son, Reed MacDonald (Joan) and their children, Brad LeBlanc and Lindsay Gould (Neil) and special grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah and Emma. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sheila MacDonald of Victoria, BC; niece Joan Duckloe (Fred); nephew, Bruce (Jane); niece-in-law, Janice MacDonald and several nieces and nephews in the US. Florence was predeceased by her brother-in-law, William MacDonald and nephew, David MacDonald. In her early years she worked for the Bank of Montreal, was a shoe model for Savage Shoe Co. and owned her own dog grooming business for 25 years in Cambridge, ON. In keeping with Florence’s wishes cremation will take place. There will be no formal visitation of funeral service. A burial will take place at a later date in Cambridge, ON. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
