Obituary of Wayne Joseph Cormier
My soul is full of whispered song; My blindness is my sight; The shadows that I feared so long Are all alive with light. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wayne Joseph Cormier announces his passing on November 28, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 25, 1948 in Saint John. He was a son of the late George Cormier and Doris Henderson (Willar). Wayne is survived by his wife, Brenda (Defazio); children, Justin Cormier (Jennie); Melissa Peters (Mark); Patricia Cormier; Amanda McConnachie and Alex McConnachie (Tara); six grandchildren, Odessa, Drew, Carter, Alina, Zachary and Gavin; and his beloved dog, Badger. He is also survived by his half brother Chris Cormier; several aunts, uncles, cousins; father-in-law, Ray Defazio (Peggy); brother-in-law, Randy Defazio (Pam); sister-in-law, Debbie Flecknell (Jamie) and his loving aunt, Evelyn Sproul. Wayne is predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Lowther); son, Brian and brother, Brian. Wayne was an avid antique car collector and appraiser; he was a car man through and through. He had a passion for collecting vintage toys. He loved his exotic pets and travelled the world. Wayne was an entrepreneur owning and operating numerous businesses in the Saint John area which included, Saint John Toyota, Wayne Motors where he brought Suzuki to Atlantic Canada, Pizza Delight, and Summertime Restaurant Equipment. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10: 00 am from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to Bobby’s Hospice, Ca-r-ma (Cat Rescue Maritimes) or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
