Obituary of Thomas Joseph Bury
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Tom on Sunday, November 3, 2013, to await the Resurrection Day. Tom was a resident of Kennebec Manor since July 2007. He was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Elsie Bury of Acamac, NB. Tom is survived by his wife Stella of 48 years; son, Joel Bury of Saint John; sister, Lorraine Shaw (Donald) of Saugerties, NY; brother, William Bury (Donna-Lee) of Woodmans Point; one niece and four nephews.Tom worked at the C.P.R. Winter Port and with various roofing companies; retiring from MacGowan Brothers Roofing in 1996 due to poor health. Tom never shunned hard work. His passion was taking long walks and listening to the music of his favourite tenors and drum artists. We wish to thank all the staff at Kennebec Manor both past and present and the residents along with their families for the kindness, support and friendship over the years. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street, on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Kennebec Manor Bus Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
