Obituary of Darhl J.G. Hartt
It is with great sadness that the family of Darhl J. G. Hartt, husband of the late Donna Marie Hartt, of Saint John, NB, announces his passing on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side. Born on July 19, 1942 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Steven and Mary Veronica (McCormick) Hartt. Darhl retired as a Longshoreman, Local 273 as a Forklift Operator. He loved to cook and played a good game of crib with family and friends. Darhl also had a great passion and skill when it came to playing shuffle board and pool. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2. He is survived by his seven children, Debbie Hartt (Wayne Strongman) of Saint John, NB; Kimberly Hartt of Edmonton, AB; Mary Elizabeth Earle of Edmonton, AB; Stephen Hartt (Katherine) of Quispamsis, NB; Lynn MacLean (Shawn) of Rothesay, NB; Richard Hartt of Montreal, PQ and Mary Irene Hartt of Alberta; eighteen grandchildren, Troy, Tara, Tami, Natasha, Alisha, Christiana, Aaron, Donna, Carrie, Jessica, Steve, Kendall, Jeremy, Melissa, Alex, Adam, Nicholas and Sabrina; fourteen great-grandchildren. Darhl is also survived by three brothers, Andrew Hartt (Joanne), Steven Hartt and Nicholas Hartt (Bernie); sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Sterling; brother-in-law, David Gauthier; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, wife and sister-in-law, Mary and Pauline. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of the donor’s choice.
