Obituary of Nancy Rosemary Vallis
The death of Nancy Rosemary Vallis of Saint John, NB, wife of Wayne Vallis, occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family on Friday, August 10, 2012. Born in Saint John on February 12, 1951, she was the oldest child of the late Arthur and Josephine (Barrett) McCormick. Nancy worked her whole life in the health care field. She started as a pharmaceutical clerk at St. Joseph’s Hospital and retired as manager of the ECG department at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Upon retirement she continued as an active advocate for ECG education in the Atlantic Provinces. Nancy and Wayne celebrated 27 years of marriage and enjoyed a wonderful life with two children and several wonderful trips. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She enjoyed 40 summers on the beautiful Belleisle Bay where she met her husband when they were young. In addition to her husband Wayne of Rothesay, Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Alison Blois (Corey) of Saint John East, and Leah Vallis of Rothesay; two sisters, Mary McDade (Paul) of Saint John West and Jo-Ann Boyle (David) of Milledgeville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 12:00 Noon from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay. Interment will take place in St. Josephs Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Brenan’s Reception Center. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.brenansfh.com
