Obituary of Judith Ann Murphy

With her family at her side the death of Jude Murphy, wife of Richard "Rick" Murphy occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 9, 2012. She was born on January 29, 1953 in Saint John to the late Hollis and Helen (Stevens) Case. Jude was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she dedicated her life to her family. She was a co-founder of the NB German Shepherd Dog Club and a member of the Schipperke Dog Club. Jude was a dog lover, fondly called "nanny puppies" by her grandson, Payton. She was a member of the Thursday Night Dart League, an avid Sea Dogs Fan and sponsor of the Animal Rescue League. Besides her loving husband Rick; Jude is survived by her daughter, Shawna Murphy of Saint John; sons: Michael (Nicole) of Saint John and Andrew (Mia) of Korea; grandchildren: Payton, Olivia, and Samantha; brothers: Brian (Sharon) and Glen (Gail); sister, Maureen (Art); her furry friends: Diesel, Patty and Ellie and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and son, Matthew. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances to the SPCA/Animal Rescue League would be appreciated by the family.
