Obituary of Valerie Edna Estey
ESTEY, VALERIE E. – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother and cherished partner, Valerie Edna Estey of Saint John, which occurred on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of Phoebe Colwell and the late Gerald Colwell. Valerie loved her days at the trailer with all of her friends, and her dog, Baby. Valerie is survived by her loving partner of 24 years, Brian Johnson; son Ian (Hayley Kyle); daughter Kimberley; mother Phoebe Colwell; sisters Eleanor Craig (Gordon Cross), and Phyllis Lynch (David); a grandson, Andrew; granddaughters Amber, MacKenzie, and Victoria Moon; one baby great granddaughter, Alexis Paige; two step-daughters, Caroline Jennings and Irene Johnson; two nephews Troy and Brad; two nieces, Krista and Charlene; and many extended family and beloved friends. In addition to her father, Gerald Colwell, Valerie was predeceased by a nephew, Todd Craig. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
