Obituary of Alda Gertrude Belding
The death of Alda Gertrude Belding of Saint John, NB occurred on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born at Chance Harbour, NB she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Toner) Belding. Alda was small in stature but no way limited in creativity and entrepreneurship. Because of her faith, determination, and courageous spirit, she was able to overcome many of life’s obstacles that came in her pathway. Alda loved her family and friends and was generous with her kindness and hospitality. She is survived by two brothers, Lawrence and Garnet both of Chance Harbour; one sister, Inez Mawhinney of Quispamsis, NB; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Clyde and Darrell; and two sisters, Doreen Anderson and Irene Earle. The family would like to thank the staff of the Carleton Kirk Lodge for their love and kindness, and for treating Alda like family during her stay there. Although the visitation time will be held privately, relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside funeral service, which will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Chance Harbour Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Carleton Kirk Lodge would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
