Obituary of Dalton E. Parfitt
The death of Dalton E. "Buster" Parfitt of Saint John occurred on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 90, surrounded by his loving family. Dalton was a former member of Waterloo Street Baptist Church, organist, pianist, Sunday School teacher, was on the church board and Superintendent. He was well known throughout the city for his Christmas Pageants, which he wrote and produced for many years. Dalton was a very generous man. He also belonged to many senior groups and was a former Orangeman. He worked for many years at Henry Birks and Sons, Hayward and Warwick, and Thorne’s Hardware. Dalton was predeceased by his wife Alice M. (Snelling) Parfitt; his parents, five brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Diana Jean Bustard (Fred) and son Peter Dalton Parfitt; grandsons Terrance McKee (Colleen), and Christopher McKee (Alona); four great grandchildren, Katherine, Matthew, Vincent, and Samuel; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM from Cornerstone Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Cornerstone Food Bank or the SPCA-Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family
