Obituary of James Andrew Lee

The death of Jimmy Lee, husband of Wanda Lee (Clements) occurred on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on February 20, 1933 in Saint John to the late Andrew and Mary (Brown) Lee. Jim worked at the Saint John Dry Dock, Saint John Regional Correctional Centre and Guilfords. Jim was a well-known local musician involved in the country music scene for over 60 years. Besides his wife Wanda, he is survived by his children: Jimmy (Bonnie), Debbie Carr (Bruce Fulton), Karen Hamm (Dave) and David (Melissa); step-children: Doreen Holden (Brian Scribner), Lorrie Myers (Brad Swan) and Melissa Lee (David); grandson, Rilley Holden whom Jim and Wanda raised; grandchildren: Tanya, Amanda, Jennifer, John, Shannon, Amy and Brandon; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers: Edward (Linda) and Robert (Carol); sisters: Nancy Dunlop (Winston), Carol Anne McGinnis, Alice Legere (Peter) and Rose Cullen and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents and brothers: Walter and Richard and sisters: Kay and Norma. At Jim’s request there will no visitation or funeral service. Instead he requested for family and friends to join him at the Dennis Morris Memorial Community Centre, 330 Greenhead Road for a celebration of his life on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm. Fellow musician are encouraged to bring their instruments for a musical get-together in honour of Jim’s memory. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
