Obituary of Perry Jefferson Jones
Jones, Perry Jefferson - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Perry Jones of Saint John, husband of the late Viola (Munn) Jones, which occurred on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Perry worked as a carpenter for many years and at the time of his death was oldest living carpenter in United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local #1386 (56 years). He worked for Carl Hays, Harold MacNamara, Ford Construction and Darkil Construction. Perry started his career as a bellhop at Queen Hotel in Fredericton and the Cotton Mill in Marysville. He was a devoted husband and father and loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much. He is survived by son, Marcus (Bonnie) Jones; four grandchildren: Clark Jones, Matthew Jones, Michael McLeod and Sandy (Arlene) McLeod; one great-granddaughter, Carrie McLeod; brothers: Flavine (Marina) and Burchill (Betty) and many nieces and nephews. Perry was predeceased by his wife, parents; infant son, Clark Perry Jones; daughter, Arlene Juliette Jones and brothers: Arville, Merville, Theodore and Sherwood. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm from Main Street Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
