Obituary of Donald Gregory Howard
Donald Gregory Howard, formerly of Saint John and St. Martins, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 02, 2013 at the Campobello Lodge. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Hilda M. (Walton) Howard. Don was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the Navy. After the war, he worked at various construction jobs in the Saint John area. In his spare time, he enjoyed driving and travelling. Don is survived by a daughter, Cathy Howard of Norton; grandchildren Corey Lynch of Alberta, Shawne Lynch, Robin Brown, both of Saint John, and Jonathan Brown of Moncton; two great grandchildren, Masion and Aidan both in Alberta; and one nephew. Don was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy Lynch; and by a brother, Douglas Howard. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery Field of Honour at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Arthritis Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com. A Royal Canadian Legion Veteran’s Tribute Service will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
