She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Pearce (Larry) of Calgary, AB and Nancy Ohsberg (Robert) of Sackville, NS; five grandchildren: Stephen Pearce (Jill) of Calgary, AB; Erika Pearce (Brad) of Summerside, PEI;Karissa Pilkington(Steve) of Calgary, AB; Ian Ohsberg (Katie) of Fredericton, NB; and Victoria Ohsberg of Sackville,NS; six great grandchildren; sisters Audrey Corkum and Helena Hill as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Evangeline, Georgia, Florence, Marjorie and brother Lloyd. In her early adulthood she trained and worked as a bookkeeper until she retired and began her second career as a homemaker. She was a supportive and loving wife and mother. She excelled in the kitchen where she created many offerings to express her love for others. Among other talents she was a skilled seamstress. Ruby was a diligent woman of faith and was a lifelong member of Tabernacle United Baptist Church. She had a very strong work ethic. She was characterized by kindness and gentlehumour and in her final period of illness expressed that often to those who cared for her. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506.634.7424), where visitation will be held on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9 at 10am from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Ohsberg officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Ruby would have appreciated donationsin her memory to Tabernacle United Baptist Church,Saint Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, Canadian Baptist Ministries or a charity of the donor’s choice. A special thank you from the family to all those who cared for Ruby in the last few years, both in Saint John and Halifax: her loved caregivers, the staff at Evan Hall, Drs Couture and Lewis, the staff at Chateau Champlain, Dr Wilson and the team at St Joseph’s Community Clinic.
