Obituary of Wayne Ralph Elder

The unexpected death of Wayne Elder, life partner of Michelle Asselstine occurred on Thursday, October 25, 2012. He was born in Saint John on September 19, 1956 to the late Leslie and Shirley (Nelson) Elder. Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan. Besides his life partner, Michelle; Wayne is survived by his son, Adam Elder (Joleen) of Saint John; daughter, Stephanie Elder (Chris) of Saint John; grandson, Caleb (his bubby); the mother of his children, Julie Elder (nee Thomas); brothers: Bruce (Nancy) and Gary; sisters: Linda Saunders (Wally) and Bonnie Nelson (Philip); best friend, Ronnie Trites (Joanne) and his family and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). There will be no formal visitation. A private family Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to MindCare or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
