Obituary of Dennis Michael Murphy
Dennis Murphy, 74, of Saint John, NB passed away peacefully on April 11, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to the late Gerald and Evelyn (Larracey) Murphy on December 5, 1944 in Moncton, NB.
Dennis graduated from St. Malachy’s Memorial High School prior to attending St. Thomas University. He worked for NBTel before working at Moosehead Brewery for many years, where he retired from. Dennis was known for his empathy and always had time and an open ear for anyone in need. He volunteered for many years with the EAP program at Moosehead, helping the employees overcome life obstacles. He was proud of and well involved with his family. He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and took much joy in attending their recitals, soccer games, and was always looking forward to the next holiday where everyone would be together.
Dennis is survived by Judy Murphy; daughter, Kerri Murphy; son, Sean Murphy (Theresa); daughter-in-law, Jennifer Taylor (Josiah); grandchildren: Abigeal and Seamus; as well as many cousins, close nieces and nephews and long time friend, Vicki Lendorf.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Mindcare NB or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
