Obituary of Jean Alice Smith
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Alice (Sherwood) Smith surrounded by her loving family on April 16th, 2019 at Kennebec Manor. Jean was born on November 3rd 1937 to the late Elizabeth (Curran) and Alder Sherwood.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Family was everything to her and she will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband Robert, daughters; Lori (Carl) Bursey and Jill (Todd) Janes, grandchildren; Rob (Kristy) Janes and Rebecca (Kyle) Janes, great grandchildren; Londyn and Jase, sisters; Shirley Wallace, Joan Thompson and Eileen Winchester; sister in-law; Joan Sherwood, brother; John (Ida) Sherwood, special niece Dorothy Martin and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Jean was predeceased by her brother Wayne, brothers in-law; Clarence Whelpley, Bunker Wallace, Harry Thompson, Bob Winchester and son in-law Bill Bursey.
The family would like to thank the amazing care provided by the staff at Kennebec Manor. We are beyond grateful for everything you have done.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:45 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, condolences in Jean’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
