Obituary of Frances Lorraine Damon
The family of Frances Damon announce her entrance into God’s Kingdom on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, following her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 10, 1931 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late William James and Phoebe Jane “Jean” (Harris) Button.
Frances spent her life in Saint John, NB, where she worked as a sales clerk at Medjucks, Calps, and Pascal Emerson. Earlier in her life, Frances enjoyed knitting and baking, and was known for her carrot cakes. She always had a book on the go and enjoyed watching classic movies. Frances was a devout Christian and member of Northside Assembly. She will be remembered as a woman of prayer and someone who practiced “true” religion – care for the widow and orphan. Frances was thoughtful, generous, witty, and resilient but will especially be remembered for her love for family.
Frances is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Kenneth Richard Damon; Frances’ children: Deborah Marlene “Debbie” Stevens, Gail Lorraine Thom (William); and Richard Gordon Damon; grandchildren: Robin Alexander Ellingwood (April), Nathan Richard Damon (Chantel), and Timothy Gordon Damon; great-grandchildren: Emma Rose Ellingwood, Judah Alexander Ellingwood, Carter Elijah Thomas Ellingwood, Henry Kenneth James Ellingwood, Charlotte Rachelle Damon, and Archer Timothy Damon; brothers: Albert Button (Betty), Raymond Button, and Wayne Button (Ruth); sisters, Joyce Medford and Sarah Gunn (Peter); and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Button.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 9 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
