Obituary of Susan Rae Ryan
With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Susan Rae Ryan which occurred at home on Wednesday June 5th, 2019. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on September 1, 1957, she was the daughter of Ralph McLenaghan and the late Marlene (Thomas) McLenaghan.
Our hearts are filled with sadness and tears but our memories are filled with smiles and laughter of good times we shared.
Susan will be deeply missed by her partner and best friend, Raymond Alberts, her daughter Sheena Lee (Josh) and her son Kevin McLenaghan (Casey). The light in her world shone through her much loved grandchildren Malachy, Charlotte and Haley. Susan loved to cheer on Malachy in the hockey rink and on the ball field, often reminding him that she was Female Athlete of the Year in grade 9 at Bayside Middle School where Malachy attends. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen Hossack (Greg) and Lynn McLenaghan, along with her aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Susan also held a special place in the hearts of the Ryan and Alberts’ families.
Susan was a proud graduate of Simonds High (1975) and NBCC and was employed with Loch Lomond Villa for 38 years. Her compassionate nature and sense of humor made her loved and valued by both residents and co-workers.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will take place Friday, June 7 from 2-6 pm.
A Memorial Service will take place at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Extra Mural Program, Shriner’s Transportation Fund and the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
