Obituary of Bernard "Bernie" Joseph LeBlanc
With great sadness the family of Bernard “Bernie” Joseph LeBlanc, husband of Kelly Dunfield, announce his unexpected passing on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 11, 1964 in Chatham, ON, he was the son of the late Calixta and Margaret (Varocelli) LeBlanc.
Bernie took a lot of pride in his position as Safety Training Officer at the Irving Oil Refinery for 13 years and his work family held a special place in his heart. Previously Bernie was employed for 16 years at the Millidgeville Box Factory, and his daughter Nicole has many fond memories of times spent there with her Dad. Bernie and Kelly had many adventures including trips and time spent with family. His favorite times were any escapades he and his Grandson Ryan, his pride and joy, were able to have. Other interests include UFC, computer games, kayaking and he was a coffee connoisseur.
Bernie will be missed by his loving wife Kelly; cherished daughter, Nicole LeBlanc; adored grandson, Ryan LeBlanc; sisters in Cape Breton, NS; mother-in-law, Myra Eatmon (David); father-in-law, Lawson Tufts (Donna); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews and other members of his extended family. In addition to his parents, Bernie was predeceased by his first wife, April Marie LeBlanc and two sisters.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Bernie’s Life will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the SPCA (Animal Rescue) or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
