My condolences to the George O’Brien family.
I had the privilege and pleasure to work on the tissue mill project in the late 1980’s and I learned a lot from George. He earned my respect and admiration by demonstrating that hard work, respect and appreciation of everyone on the team makes a successful project. I was part of the engineering consultant team that supported George and his Irving team and I often share the fond project memories with my younger colleagues. He always gave 100% or more and it was not possible to do anything less in return.

I was sad to hear the news of George O’Brien’s passing. George was one of my father’s best friends. I had some good conversations with George about his good times with my father. He told me about many of their extraordinary times growing up in Saint John. My father held George in high regard as an extraordinary lifelong friend and the best example of a gentleman!
It is easy to look up to George as a role model of his generation.

Dear Eleanor, David, Susan, Christine and all family
I loved George O’Brien as did our whole Brown clan. George was a wonderful friend to my parents Kay and Bernie Brown. They adored his friendship and we even as kids.....then young adults/adults realized what a great gentleman George was. Courteous, smart, articulate, sweet mannered George made a beautiful impression on me personally. He was so good to my Dad Bernie, I will never forget how happy he made dad, and just about everyone in the room.....and sometimes it was a big room. That was George, he impressed everyone!
I’m so glad George found Eleanor when he did! Lucky man! And what a happy man. Thank you Eleanor! God Bless You All. We’re all very sad. I unfortunately will be in another province and will miss the funeral. I’m very disappointed as I would like to have seen everyone. Praying for you all

George was a wonderful friend to our Dad, Harold Walsh. He would engage us with many stories from their youth on High Street. My father, George, Aunt Kay, and Dad’s twin, Uncle Richard grew up together.
We so appreciated George’s presence when our father was ill. He always knew just what to say
to make everyone smile.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you today. George was a true gentleman and will be missed by many.

I am so very sorry for the passing of George. I shall remember the twinkle in his eye and his always smiling and saying hello whenever I met him in the Pedway. But most of all I shall remember his wedding to Eleanor as one of the most fun weddings I have ever played for. The smile and twinkle were especially on display that day. My sincere sympathy to all of you. He was a lovely man.

Truly a wonderful friend and mentor. Worked on many memorable projects with George. No finer gentleman and leader to complete a project on time and on budget. Had the good fortune of having lunch with Gerry at their Mom’s in Rockwood Court. As well as many visits to O’Brien Electric. George’s contagious smile and leadership, will be greatly missed by Family and Friends...John McMillan
