Obituary of Ken Colwell
It is with saddened hearts that the family of Ken Colwell, husband to Judy (Buckley), announces his passing which occurred on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born on August 25, 1950, Ken was a son of the late Walter and Helen (Lavigne) Colwell.
Ken was the life of every party. Forever a storyteller, and at times, a story maker, you could always count on him for a laugh. Ken was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending his evenings at the Union Street Bingo Hall with Judy. He loved the Maple Leafs and enjoyed wrestling, but above all, time spent with his family took priority and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife Judy, his children: Janet (Lenny) Richard and Kenny (Leanna) Colwell, granddaughter Miley Richard, step-sons Christopher (Jessica) Wood and Tony (Kelly) Wood, his siblings: Ricky (Mario) D’Argenio, Edward (Sheila) Colwell, George (Colleen) Hammond, Judy Despres and Linda (Romeo) Despres, along with many nieces, nephews, close friends and members of his extended family.
Ken’s family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit. Your kindness, compassion and care will not be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, September 28 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at which time a Celebration of Life will take place in Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
