Obituary of Roy Jarvis
It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Frederick Jarvis announces his passing on September 25, 2019. Born in Saint John on February 25, 1957, he was a son of the Late Frederick Jarvis Jr. and Alice Gillard.
Roy was a self-made man. He was a proud man who never asked for anything and spent his time collecting bottles to make a little extra on the side. He loved to walk, and could often be seen around the streets and highways, rain or shine or sleet or snow. Roy was loved by many, and he loved being around people. He spent a lot of time with friends, having drinks and playing cards. He was also fond of animals, caring deeply for his family pets Tin, Blacky and Sandy.
Roy is survived by his step-mother Florence Jarvis (Harold Bezeau); step-sister Betty-Ann Morell (Wes) and their children Anthony, Ricky, David and Christina Grant; step-sister Mary Jane McManus and her children Amy McManus (Catlin), Amber Leblanc (Adam) and Chantal May (Rob); step-brother Robert LeBlanc (Maggie); step-brother Blair Haché (Brenda) and their son Jonathan Haché; aunts: Eleanor Vautour, Donna Jefferson, Shirley Horne; as well as several cousins and great-nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his family and the many friends he made over the years.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), where visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 10 AM. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke or a charity of the donor's choice.
