Obituary of Edith Catherine Kelly
It is with appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Edith Kelly, beloved wife of the late William Kelly, announce her passing which occurred on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Kingsway Care Centre, Quispamsis. Born on January 31, 1928 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Annie (Laverty) Titus.
Edith dedicated her life to caring for the needs of those she loved and will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend. Edith always took great comfort in her faith and was an active member of Park Avenue United Church where she especially enjoyed singing in the choir. In her younger years, she worked at Titus Bakery which was started by her father. Edith was a huge bingo fan, she enjoyed watching movies, was an avid bowler, a member of the Mary Flewelling Group and looked forward to her weekly rummoli and card games.
Edith will be lovingly remembered by her son, Andrew Kelly (Maryann) of Rothesay; precious grandchildren, Craig Kelly (Heather) and Devan Kelly (Jessica); adored great-grandson, Nathan; special niece, Carol Drew of Florida; as well as two nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Kevin Kelly; sister, Muriel Short and brothers, Athol Titus, Howard Titus and Edwin Titus.
The Kelly family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the entire staff of Kingsway Care Centre. The excellent care, support and friendship provided to Edith and her family will never be forgotten.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 4:00 -8:00 PM and the following day, Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 12:30 - 1:30 PM with the funeral service starting at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.
